Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc
|Region||Central Valley, Chile|

Climate & Soil
The central zone has a mediterranean climate with a high daytime-night time temperature oscillation, average humidity
of 55–60%, and summer highs above 30°c. Temperatures are lower in zones near the Andes mountains owing to the cold mountain air, while temperature oscillation near the coastal range is lowered by the maritime influence. A selection of grapes from vineyards situated in silty soils with excellent drainage located at the foot of the Andes is carefully combined with those from vineyards located near the coastal range, with heavier clay-silt soils.
The harvest began in early march to obtain the
more refreshing, herbal side of the variety, and ended in early april with the more tropical side. the very clear musts were fermented at low temperatures with selected yeasts for around 25 days. Once fermentation was complete, the wines were kept on the lees for 15 days until sulphited and then blended.

Superb quality and craftsmanship are the hallmarks of Santa Rita, one of Chile’s most admired and innovative wine estates. The “120” series of wines was named after the historic event in which 120 soldiers took refuge in Santa Rita’s cellars in 1814 during Chile’s war for independence. These wines are
fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures and bottled early to preserve each variety’s fruitiness and natural aromas. The 120 wines are young, fresh and fruity, elegant and perfectly balanced with good acidity. Their exceptional value makes them an outstanding choice for accompanying
our everyday meals.
