The Maipo Valley is located within the Metropolitan Region, which includes Santiago, the capital of Chile. The eastern sector of the valley, close to the Andes, is known as Maipo Alto, the most esteemed place for the development of the vine. And this is where our Quinta de Maipo vineyard is located.
The climate conditions at the Quinta de Maipo vineyard are very unique due its located at a point that is equidistant between the Andes Mountains and the coast. The influences of both converge and create a regime of cool winds and unique temperatures. These fluctuate between a minimum of 10°C and maximum of 23°C in annual average.
The Maipo River shapes the geography, and for thousands of years it has dragged rocks down from the Andes into the valley and deposited them as stones and sand to form rocky soils with good drainage and low fertility.
